What’s new in Clozely
Release notes for the desktop app, newest first. The app updates itself, so you’ll usually have the latest build already.
v1.0.30 Latest September 2026
- YouTube lectures. Paste a YouTube link and the lecture becomes a cited study doc, on desktop. Click a citation and the video plays at that second.
v1.0.17 July 27, 2026
- Web pages remember your cards. Retype a URL, reopen the page from your Card Library, or switch devices — your cards and highlights come back with it. Cards you already made on web pages migrate automatically the first time you reopen their page.
- Better highlight selection. Highlights no longer grab the first word of the next line when you stop at punctuation or at the end of a line, curly apostrophes are handled correctly (don’t, Crohn’s), and dragging to select in a PDF lands on cleaner endpoints.
- Opening a card’s source is more reliable. The right tab comes to the front and scrolls to the right place, tabs no longer vanish, and you get an honest message when the file lives on another device.
- Transcripts stay with the recording. Audio and video transcripts are saved per document, so reopening a recording never re-transcribes it.
- Clearer notices. You’re told plainly when saving isn’t possible, or when a webpage has changed enough that your old highlights no longer match it.
- Sharper artwork. Refreshed logo rendering and crisper favicons.
v1.0.16 July 17, 2026
- Audio and video transcription. Open a recording, transcribe it, and turn any part of the transcript into cards — with full playback alongside.
- Fixes for scanned-document text recognition and for cards made from image documents.
v1.0.15 July 12, 2026
- Handwritten margin notes. Write in the margins with a pen or stylus and have your handwriting recognized.
- Toolbar menu polish.
v1.0.14 & v1.0.13 July 10–11, 2026
- New app top bar. A calmer, clearer place for everything you reach for most.
- Media syncing across devices, so images and recordings follow your documents.
- Image-occlusion mask editing — adjust the masks you’ve drawn instead of starting over.
- Faster, more reliable syncing.
