What video formats work?
The common ones: mp4, mov, webm, mkv, m4v, and phone recordings. Audio-only files (mp3, m4a, wav, ogg) work through the transcription flow.
Can I make Anki cards from a YouTube video?
Clozely opens video files from your computer; it doesn't download from YouTube or other streaming sites. If you have the recording as a file (your own lecture capture, a downloaded course video you're licensed to keep), it works like any other recording.
Does this need a subscription?
Yes. Transcription is part of the AI add-on, and lecture study docs are part of AI Pro ($17.99/mo, $12.99 student). The manual app itself is a separate one-time purchase. Details on pricing.
What happens to my recording?
Recordings are uploaded for transcription and deleted from our servers shortly after processing. The transcript and study doc live in your library, on your device.
How is this different from a note-taking AI?
